A rope leading into a river: Must be a CCP Baptism!

10 Apr 2016 -- Posted by : admin
We had our first ever baptism today! Stew Riley, one of the CCP team, was dunked today in the River Ribble! We had a great turn out of about 40-50 people, all squeezed into our usual meeting room at the  St James building in Preston. Being near standing room only was a good reminder that soon we'll be after a bigger space to meet! We had a fantastic time of worship, celebrating Jesus, doughnuts at break time (you wouldn't expect anything less...!) and then teaching from the Bible.
...Someone commented that this was probably the most hardcore baptism they'd ever been to...
Following this we all headed down to Avenham/ Miller park. Stew did a fantastic job sharing his testimony, telling us what Jesus had done in his life. A few of us then slithered down the bank of the Ribble, supported partially by the above pictured rope... It's a bit slippy down there! Someone commented that this was probably the most hardcore baptism they'd ever been to. I agree, the water was pretty cold and the current threatened a few times to wash us away... that's how we like it though! Anyway, it all went really well, Stew was thoroughly drenched, and everyone went back after to Dice N Doughnuts for some excellent drinks and food.
